Search by institution
This tab allows a detailed analysis of the institutions filed in the database to be obtained. For example, the following are available:
a. View all the institutions within a given region, including the data for its judicial documentation with respect to all the documents from that institution, and the proportion of the judicial documents and all the documents within different date ranges.
b. Analyse each institution within each region, and the percentages of total documents and judicial documents within different date ranges.
c. Access, per institution:
- The edition or editions used (by clicking on Edition-Show)
- The table of documents that have survived for each year (by clicking on the specific institution)
- The texts of the judicial documents (by clicking on the number of judicial documents)

Using this tab, the following types of searches can be performed:
- Word. A character string can be introduced to find certain words that appear in the name of each institution (cathedral, monastery, collegiate church, priory), but also the advocation (S. Pedro, S. Juan) or by place name (Eslonza, Cardeña). This may also be filtered by region.
- Type of data. By using this filter a graphic representation of all documents and judicial documents, all documents only or judicial documents only can be searched and viewed.
- Region. By using this filter the search may be restricted to a single region, which is convenient when there is a large number of institutions. By selecting a particular region, the lower box (Institutions) shows the entries for that region only. If it is left unselected, all entries are shown.
- Institution. The desired institution may be selected by using the drop-down menu.
- Date range: The desired date range may be selected.
- Group by: The chronological interval (in years) in which the data is to be represented may be selected. By default, it operates on one-year intervals, but the user may choose other intervals considered more appropriate (10, 20 years, etc.). The intervals are based on the date indicated as the first term in the date range.
- Graph selection: The type of graph to view the data can be selected.
- Graph size: The graph size to view the data can be selected (by default, 800 x 500 pixels).
- Graph title: A title for the graph may be entered here.
- Export data. To export the data in CSV format, click
