This tab allows either a region-based or an institution-based complex comparative analysis to be conducted. Up to 5 sets of data can be represented together in a graph. However, the fewer the number of sets that are represented simultaneously, the more legible the results will be. The data to be represented may be the number of total documents, the number of judicial documents, or the total/judicial proportion. A date range and a chronological interval (in years) may be defined to customise the time axis of the graph.

Using this tool:

a. For each region, the number of judicial documents can be viewed and compared with that of the total documents. The total/judicial proportion within different date ranges can also be viewed and compared.
b. Different types of comparisons and graphs for the number of judicial documents versus the total documents for each institution can be made separately. The total/judicial proportion within different date ranges may also be viewed.
c. All the documents for a given region and the judicial documents from several institutions for that region may be viewed and compared within different date ranges.
d. This comparison can also be made between institutions from different regions. For example, the most important institutions from several regions can be compared.

The procedure to obtain different types of results is described below.

1. Comparison between regions.

To compare the documents available for several regions:

Example 1) All documents-Judicial documents of Aragón, Castilla, Galicia, Navarra and Portugal 10th-11th centuries (25-year interval).

2. Comparison between institutions.

a) Up to five institutions may be compared:

Example 2a) Judicial documents of León Institutions, 10th-11th centuries (25-year interval).

b) Institutions from different regions may also be compared:

Example 2b) Percentage T/J of S. Juan de la Peña (Aragón); Covarrubias (Castilla); Sobrado (Galicia); Sahagún (León); Moreira (Portugal) 10th-11th centuries (50-year interval).

It should also be posible to compare as many as five institutions from different regions; or different time periods of the same institution/region

c) The total number of documents from a given region may also be compared with that of the judicial documents from different institutions in that region:

Example 2c) All documents of Galicia and Judicial documents of Catedral de Lugo, Catedral de Santiago, Samos, Celanova, Sobrado (30-year interval).
